Wash U Football vs North Central College 2025

    There is nothing like college football on a Saturday afternoon. Today's game is the first day game of the season and it warm and sunny. Wash U Bears play in the College Conference Illinois Wisconsin conference. It is strange to hear Wash U football in today's football levels of play for colleges. One coach of a Southeastern Conference team commented that he thought they played "Powder Puff Football." Wash U is known for its academics not for their sports programs. The CCIW is Division III sports and a very real level of college football. 

     Talk of the move to the North Coast Athletic Conference have been out there for the past few seasons. Well, 2026 it becomes a reality. The NCAC is a very competitive conference with this list of competitor Denison, Depauw, Kenyon, Oberlin, Ohio Wesleyan, Wabash, Wittenberg, Wooster and John Caroll which began its NCAC debut this season. Today Wash U lost a hard-fought game against North Central College of the CCIW by a score of 44 to 14. Wash U won the previous match ups against Rhodes College 49-0 and Caroll University. Leaving the CCIW will be a bittersweet departure. Tailgating at Francis Field is sure to be up and the stands filled as Wash U brings a fresh level of competitors to St. Louis College Football. It is still D3 football however the teams are new for the first time in 13 years.
