SLU Field Hockey Complex-St. Louis, Missouri, USA

I made it to my first SLU Field Hockey game of the season; late in the season. The new field is beautiful as the day. The young ladies are in mid pregame warm up. I notice something that is not normal compared to last year. There are Pink SLU Vintage Tee-Shirts being worn by the SLU Players in support of Cancer patients. The UC Davis Players are wearing pink shoes and various players have pink ribbons painted on their sticks. Today is Billikens Pink Game for Breast Cancer Awareness and Alumnae Day. This SLU Field Hockey second season at the new SLU Field Hockey Complex and it marks the 50th Anniversary of the St. Louis University Field Hockey program which began in 1975.
Today's match up was very competitive and is UC Davis's last season in their current conference. In 2026 UC Davis Aggies will be moving to Mountain Pacific Sports Federation they are currently in the Big West Conference. UC Davis will remain a Division I team. Today was a bitter loss for the Billikens in Over-Time after a 1-1 tie in regulation play. The winning goal was scored by UC Davis player 24 Karly Redman. Final score UC Davis 2 to SLU 1.
